File Size

Minimum 10 KB – Maximum 5 MB

1.2 Facial Position & Composition

  • Face must be directly facing the camera.

  • The face (from top of hair to bottom of chin) should cover 70–80% of the image height.

  • Both ears should be clearly visible (not covered by hair).

  • Natural facial expression: no smile, no frown.

  • Eyes open, clearly visible – no squinting or closed eyes.

  • No sunglasses, tinted glasses or reflective lenses.

  • Prescription glasses are allowed only if they don’t obscure the eyes.

Important Note:

  • Do not crop from full-body photos, selfies, or passport scans. Use a fresh headshot taken specifically for the eVisa application.
  • You don't need to measure millimeters – just make sure your face is not too small or too large, and your eyes are in the upper-middle part of the frame.

1.3 Attire and Accessories

  • Wear neat, non-reflective clothing.

  • Avoid white clothing that blends into the background.

  • No hats, caps, or headscarves, except for religious purposes (face must remain fully visible).

  • No headphones, earbuds, or shiny accessories.

1.4 How to Take the Photo at Home

► Equipment:

  • Use a high-resolution camera (smartphones are acceptable with good lighting).

  • Set up a white or light-colored background (e.g., curtain, bedsheet, wall).

Positioning:

  • Place the camera at eye level.

  • Stand 1 to 1.5 meters from the camera.

1.5 Posing Guidelines

  • Stand straight, face the camera directly.

  • Keep shoulders level, avoid tilting your head.

  • Ensure your head occupies about 70–80% of the frame height.

1.6 Reminders

  • Each applicant must submit their own photo – including infants and children.

  • Submitting an incorrect photo is a common reason for eVisa rejections.

  • Always use a recent photo (within the last 6 months).
